The Dark Crystal Reader is a passive RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) reader for use with the Progeny P4 controllers.
The crystal credential (card or Fob) is encoded with an encrypted identification number.
This encrypted number is communicated to the P4 controller when credential is presented to the reader.
The P4 controller uses this information together with the time date and location to decide if access should be granted.
Whatever the outcome the controller will log the transaction for reporting later.
